Operation Duster

To enhance the cleanliness and overall environment of Dyfed-Powys, by addressing resident concerns and implementing proactive measures with support from Community/Parish/Town Councils and the Local Authorities.

Scope:
Physical Cleanliness:

• Regular litter picking and waste removal from communal areas, streets, and green spaces.
• Sweeping and clearing of debris from public areas, inc. sweep vehicle.
• Maintenance of green spaces, including grass cutting, weed control, and planting - provided by Local Authorities.
  

Resident Engagement:

• Regular communication with residents to gather feedback and address concerns.
• Organising community clean-up events and initiatives.
• Providing information on waste disposal and recycling guidelines, with support from Local Authorities.

Pest Control:

• Implementing proactive pest control measures to prevent infestations.
• Responding to resident reports of pest issues promptly.

Key Activities:

1. Initial Assessment:
   • Conduct a thorough inspection of the estate to identify areas requiring immediate attention.
   • Prioritise tasks based on severity and impact on the community.
2. Clean-up Operations:
   • Schedule regular clean-up activities, including litter picking, sweeping, and pressure washing (sweep vehicles).
   • Coordinate with local authorities and contractors to ensure efficient waste disposal.
   • Monitor and maintain cleanliness standards throughout the region.
3. Resident Engagement:
   • Establish regular communication channels (e.g., newsletters, community meetings, social media) to keep residents informed.
   • Encourage resident participation in clean-up events and initiatives.
   • Conduct surveys or feedback forms to gauge resident satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
4. Pest Control:
   • Implement a preventative pest control program to minimise infestations.
   • Respond promptly to resident reports of pest issues and take appropriate action.
5. Long-Term Maintenance:
   • Develop a long-term maintenance plan to ensure ongoing cleanliness and environmental upkeep.
   • Collaborate with local authorities and housing providers to secure necessary resources and funding.
